Mast Trees Hillsborough County Florida – Wholesale
Looking for a show-stopping vertical, columnar tree that will bring you more compliments than any other element of your landscape design? Wholesale Mast Trees from Palmco will provide aesthetic beauty to your property in Hillsborough County, Florida.
The Mast Tree, or Polyalthia longifolia ‘Pendula,’ originated in the lowland rainforests of India and Sri Lanka and is also known as False Ashoka, Asoka, Buddha Tree, Indian Mast Tree, and Indian Fir Tree.
In British India (1612-1947), the Mast Tree was popular for its resemblance to the Mediterranean Cypress and because its tall, stick-straight trunk was ideal for building ship masts. Mast Trees were eventually introduced into Hawaii in 1921 and Florida in 1976.
The beautiful evergreen tree grows in a somewhat narrow, columnar shape to 30 to 45 feet in height and 4 to 5 feet in width at maturity. It is covered from top to bottom with graceful, glossy dark green pendulous leaves on drooping branches.
Landscaping with Mast Trees
Mast Trees will transform any plain landscape. Their dense foliage, soft texture and tall, symmetrical shape, makes them popular with landscape architects and designers for framing entryways, covering vertical drain-pipes, softening corners and vertical edges, and even as elegant property dividers.
