Deltona Bamboo Wholesale
Are you designing a landscape for a new project which needs a tropical touch?
Consider one of Palmco’s 20 varieties of clumping bamboo. With 600 acres in production, we are one of the largest palm and bamboo plantations in North America. Our Deltona bamboo wholesale plants can help you create privacy and beauty within a few growing seasons.
Clumping bamboos are non-invasive.
Unlike more aggressive running bamboos, they don’t expand horizontally beyond their assigned space. They are ideal for use as privacy screens, hedges, living fences, windbreaks, and to stabilize soil on slopes.
There are so many varieties of bamboo that you are certain to find one that will grow everywhere but Antarctica and survive in many different climate conditions. Consider including the versatile, low-maintenance and eco-friendly bamboo in your next landscaping project.
At Palmco, you’ll discover the Dendrocalamus, a genus that includes some of the tallest, most spectacular bamboos in the world, and the tropical and subtropical Bambusa, which is cold-hardy and well-suited to Florida’s warm, southern climate. Our most popular bamboos include:
Angel Mist (Dendrocalamus minor ‘Amoenus’)
Also known as Ghost Bamboo, this very rare mid-sized Chinese bamboo is one of the smallest Dendrocalamus species. It grows to a typical height of 35 feet with 3-inch diameter pale lime green culms with dark green stripes and a waxy powder covering. This tough species can handle a variety of soil conditions. Angel Mist bamboo makes a strong, colorful ornamental centerpiece and is ideal for use as a privacy screen or an avenue planting.
Emerald Bamboo (Bambusa mutabilis)
Sometimes called Emerald Timber Bamboo, this variety is the one that most people picture when they think of bamboo. It is elegant, tall and straight, and new culms have a whitish-blue waxy tint and turn a muted green color as they age. It grows in a nice tight clump that is attractive and creates a dense privacy screen. Emerald Bamboo is cold-hardy down to 18°F and makes an excellent ornamental bamboo. Its culms are about 2-inches in diameter and it grows to a stately 30 to 40 feet.
Seabreeze Bamboo (Bambusa malingensis)
Seabreeze, native to Southern China, is a tough, bushy and very fast growing variety that can reach heights up to 40 feet. The 2 1/2-inch diameter canes have a distinctive bluish-white tint in each section. This is a very hardy clumping bamboo that can withstand temperatures down to 20°F. It is drought-tolerant, salt-tolerant and an excellent performer in Florida’s planting zones of 9a and up. When mature, it forms a graceful umbrella-shaped arch and is ideal for hedges, windbreaks and privacy screens. Its canes also make lovely “bamboo sounds” when the wind blows.
Palmco is located in the sleepy fishing and farming community of Bokeelia on charming Pine Island, Florida, and serves clients in the contiguous U.S. and abroad.
